Keep It Running, Keep It Improving

Live software needs upkeep — bug fixes, security patches, performance tuning, and the steady stream of small enhancements that keep a product competitive. BlastAsia maintains software two ways: a Dedicated Developer Team working directly in your existing codebase, or fast, spec-driven maintenance through Xamun's Turnkey and xDD models, for software already built or modernized on the Xamun Software Factory.

THE PROBLEM

Most Software Partners Only Offer One Shape — And Make You Fit It

Once a product ships, most partners either want to bill hourly for every ticket that comes in, or won't touch code they didn't write in the first place. Neither gets you a partner who actually keeps the product moving forward.

Hourly billing punishes small fixes

A one-line bug fix and a two-week feature enhancement get billed the same inefficient way — hour by hour, with no incentive to move fast.

Most firms won't touch someone else's code

If you didn't build it with them, many partners won't maintain it — leaving you stuck with whoever built it originally, whether or not that relationship still works.

Maintenance work gets deprioritized

New builds are where the attention and best engineers go. Maintenance contracts often mean whoever's available, not whoever knows the product best.

TWO PATHS

Two Paths to Ongoing Maintenance

Which path fits comes down to one question: is your software's codebase something a team should edit directly, or has it already been captured as a spec that Xamun's AI-native pipeline can work from?

DIRECT CODEBASE WORK

Dedicated Developer Team

A staffed team of developers, BAs, and QA works directly in your existing code — no regeneration, no spec extraction, just engineers who know your codebase maintaining it hands-on.

Best when: your software hasn't gone through Xamun's spec-regeneration pipeline and you want it maintained exactly as it stands, by a team you direct yourself.

SPEC-DRIVEN

xDD (Continuous Delivery)

For software originally built on the Xamun Software Factory, or since regenerated into a spec through Xamun's legacy modernization process, maintenance becomes fast, AI-native change requests instead of manual file surgery. xDD suits steady, ongoing upkeep; Turnkey suits a fixed, scoped batch of fixes or enhancements.

Best when: your app is already Xamun-built or Xamun-regenerated, and you want maintenance and enhancement delivered at AI-native speed.

HOW TO CHOOSE

Three Questions That Point You to the Right Model

If you're not sure which path fits, these three questions usually settle it.

Was this built by Xamun, or since regenerated into a spec?

If yes — Turnkey or xDD can maintain it at AI-native speed. If no, and you're not looking to regenerate it first — Dedicated Dev Team is the only option.

Is this steady, ongoing upkeep, or a fixed batch of work?

Ongoing, evolving maintenance — xDD or a Dedicated Dev Team. A bounded set of fixes or enhancements — Turnkey.

Do you want a team you direct day to day, or a faster, hands-off model?

You manage the team yourself, in your own code — Dedicated Dev Team. You'd rather hand off spec-driven change requests — xDD or Turnkey.

PROOF

Real Software, Still Being Maintained Today

One engagement shows ongoing enhancement through the Xamun Software Factory; the other shows a codebase maintained directly by a staffed team for years.

Phase 2 Enhancement of an NFC Hardware & Reporting App

An industrial electronics company came back to BlastAsia (via Xamun Turnkey) for a second phase of enhancement work on an existing NFC-connected hardware app — iOS firmware updates, support for a new hardware variant, a global reporting dashboard, role-access improvements, and event logging, all delivered as spec-driven change requests against the app's existing Xamun-built foundation.

A Mortgage & Insurance Platform, Maintained Since 2018

BlastAsia's dedicated team has maintained and grown a mortgage and insurance policy platform for an insurance enterprise since 2018 — still active today, and adopted by the client's acquirer rather than replaced after an M&A event.

SOFTWARE LIFECYCLE SOLUTIONS

Starting From Scratch, or Ready for a Bigger Overhaul?

App Maintenance is one of three Software Lifecycle Solutions. If your needs go beyond keeping things running, one of these two is probably the better starting point.

NEW APP BUILD

Your Trusted Partner to Bring Software Ideas to Life

Discovery, design, architecture, and build — end to end, for a product that doesn't exist yet.

Future-Proof Your Legacy App

Refactor in place, or reverse-engineer and rebuild at AI speed onto a modern stack — without a multi-year rewrite.

The Engine Behind Turnkey and xDD Maintenance

Turnkey and xDD maintenance both run on the Xamun Software Factory — every fix or enhancement is defined as a precise spec change, then accelerated with AI-assisted code generation and expert engineering review, sprint by sprint.

A Dedicated Developer Team doesn't run through this factory — it's a traditional staffed team working directly in your existing code, which is exactly the point for software that hasn't been captured as a spec, or where you want to direct the maintenance work yourself.

BlastAsia doesn't yet have its own dedicated Software Factory explainer page — this links out to Xamun's own site for the deeper technical explanation.

Spec-First

Every Change Precisely Scoped

Fixes and enhancements are defined as spec changes before any code is touched — no ambiguity about what "done" means.

80%

Routine Code Auto-Generated

AI handles the routine parts of a change so engineers focus on the logic and edge cases that actually matter.

2wk

Sprint Cadence

Working, tested changes shipped every two weeks on xDD maintenance — not a backlog that quietly grows.

100%

Code Ownership

Full source code stays yours on every model — Turnkey, xDD, or Dedicated Dev Team. No vendor lock-in, ever.
