    Project Management
We describe and organize the work of the project....

"The Standish Group research shows a staggering 31.1% of projects will be canceled before they ever get completed. Further results indicate 52.7% of projects will cost 189% of their original estimates….. On the success side, the average is only 16.2% for software projects that are completed on-time and on-budget. In the larger companies, the news is even worse: only 9% of their projects come in on-time and on-budget. "--

We believe that quality project management is the key to any development effort. We apply our Project Management experience in managing and monitoring the quality and timelines of work done. For ensuring the same we have established our own development methodologies and processes. We excel in technical project management and increase quality and profitability of our clients' project.

One key advantage of our workforce is flexibility. Although, we have our own monitoring systems, we can easily adapt to the practices and methodologies of our clients, depending on the agreements signed at the beginning of the project.

Project Management Process/ Approach :

We from the beginning have embraced the project management best practices in the industry and have been constantly adding our learning to it. We closely follow the PMBOK as set by the Project Management Institute (PMI) standards. Hence, it helps to oversee any project success and also to perform an audit/review of a current project situation. We can also identify and address gaps/risks in the project that may cause risk to business goals.

We use Microsoft Project Server along with Microsoft Sharepoint services to manage the ongoing projects and related issues and risks. Along with this we have our own server at a San Diego Data Center that can be used for testing the application during the debugging stage. We also use a project portal, an interactive environment to manage communication between our clients and development team. The above set of tools and technology helps with the following :

Real time tracking of the project progress
Closed loop communication between the stakeholders
Version control using MS Visual Source Safe
Regular project status reporting using Earned Value analysis(EVA) and punch list
Jointly monitoring key risks in the project
Online issues & bugs tracking

Our Methodology : We follow PMI Framework customized to our own organization and environment. This enables us to guarantee high quality solutions delivered on time and within the budget. Our project management process groups are organized as under :

Initiation:   Even though a short phase, this is one of the most critical of the phases. During initiation we help the project identify its Objectives, Constraints, Success criteria and the stakeholders. The formal assignment of the project manager is done at this phase.

Planning:  Planning is a major or important to any project because the project involves doing something that has not been done before. Planning is an ongoing effort throughout the life of the project. This Phase of Project Management includes the following core processes:

  Scope Planning
  Scope Definition
  Activity Definition
  Activity Sequencing
  Activity duration Estimating
  Schedule Development
  Risk Management Planning
  Resource Planning
  Cost Estimating
  Cost Budgeting
  Project Plan Development
With our collection of Tools and Techniques along with the experience of using them we bring to the table unmatched value proposition to the client.

Execution:  Most of the project budget is spend during this phase and is the longest phase in the entire project lifecycle. The process includes:

  Project Plan Execution
  Quality Assurance
  Team Development
  Information Distribution
  Solicitation
  Source Selection
  Contract Administration

Control:  Project performance must be monitored and measured regularly to identify variances from the plan. Variances are fed into the control processes in the various knowledge areas. Controlling also includes taking preventive action in anticipation of possible problems. The controlling process group contains core processes and facilitating processes. This phase covers:

  Integrated Change Control
  Scope Verification
  Scope Change Control
  Schedule Control
  Cost Control
  Quality Control
  Performance Reporting
  Risk Monitoring and Control

Closing:  Last of the project phases, Closing is very important to the organization for learning from the good and bad things that happened during the whole lifecycle. This stage contains:

Contract Closeout

Administrative Closure
